No we don't! We use only healthy, natural ingredients. No Salt. No Sugar. No artificial sweeteners or preservatives.

What does Salt Water Licks mean?
Our doggie bakery is at the beach. So we thought it would be cute to name it Salt Water Licks (think Ocean Kisses). Everyone asks! We probably should just have named it Ocean Kisses....

Some of your treats look like they have chocolate on them. But isn't chocolate bad for dogs?
We use Carob, never Chocolate. Carob has no relation to chocolate and is actually really good for dogs (and for people too!) It is naturally sweet, low in fat, high in protein. Carob has no cafein or cocoa, and has been cultivated for over 2000 years. By the way, Chocolate is very bad for dogs and can even kill them. So if your dog begs for chocolate, give carob instead!

Do you use sugar?
We don't use any sugar in our baking. Our pastries are naturally sweetened with ingredients like unsulphured molasses, all natural peanut butter (not sweet to people, but boy do dogs love it!) and carob (really high in protein, low in fat and naturally sweet). We even use bananas, banana chips and natural applesauce in some of our treats. If you try the treats, you'll enjoy the flavour, but won't find them overly sweet.

Do dogs appreciate the beauty of your pastries?
Every treat is baked with love, and we know dogs recognize love wherever they find it! Besides....New research has suggested that dogs are not color blind so they might very well appreciate the beauty of our pastries. And their people surely will appreciate our efforts.

My dog is allergic to wheat, do you have any pastries my dog can eat?
We do have hypoallergetic baked goods. Our Jaquie Doodles are made with rice flower and have no wheat soy or corn. NEW TREAT just added!!! Golden Doodles are our cheddar cheese wheat free treat! Be sure to try them! Jacques can't decide which he likes better!

Do you sell things other than baked goods?
Yes we have a store full of dog and cat accessories and clothes. We also are going to be offering the cutest, the coolest, the very neatest...well as soon as we put them up we'll let you in on the secrecat! Hoping to have them by the beginning of November!

What if my dog likes softer treats?
Crunchy or Soft, we have it all! Ginger Bites and PupCakes are our softest treats. Ginger bites are perfect for dogs of all sizes and shapes. Ginger is naturally good for digestion and we have never met a pup that isn't crazy for Ginger Bites, Labra Gingers or Little Hearts. Pupcakes and Barkday Cakes are a great special treat for a party or special hound~day (and no, that's not a car!

What kind of flavors do you have?
We offer many flavors for you best friend's enjoyment. There are Peanut Butter pastries, an all time favorite; Parsley Poppers, which freshen breath; carrob flavored, a yummy glutin free alternitive; and chedder cheese; for the cheese lovin' dogs. We also have apple sweetened pastries like apple hydrants, ginger softies including ginger bites and our famous pupcakes that combine the goodness of bananas with apples, nuts and molasses for pure joy.

Can I buy in bulk?
We offer party trays for all your entertaining occasions and we also sell most of our treats either individually, in half dozen, or in dozens.
We also have a wholesale side. If you have a store or boutique and would like to offer Salt Water Licks puppy pastries to your customers, give us a call!

Can people eat the pastries?
All of pastries are bakery grade ingredients, so they can all be consumed by people as well as pups. In fact many of the treats taste rather good, though some are harder than normal people food. One of the cooks tests at least one Pastry from every batch ensure quality. Of course, Jacques tastes liberally and often! But we are selling these treats for your pup. Get your own food!
