Have a Birthday Pawty for Your Pup!

Games make the Pawty!

Stage a Dog Birthday Show!  Once all the guests have arrived, organize a dog parade. Act as emcee, announcing each one’s name and pedigree. Encourage dogs to demonstrate their favorite tricks.

Obedience School  Dogs are given commands from the Obedience School Master, such as “roll over,” “play dead,” “sit,” “lay down,” “lick your right paw,” etc.  The last dog left, wins.

Agility exercises are an especially fun idea. Rent or buy agility equipment like a tunnel for the dogs to race through.  Or simply lay a couple of planks down on the ground and encourage the dogs to jump over them.  Watching Jacques, the Frenchie ignore the planks will be almost as much fun as watching Daphne, the rat terrier jump over.  Make sure to have plenty of treats like Salt Water Licks Chicken or Beef Jerky to offer them when they run through successfully.  Bobbing for Biscuits. Fill a small tub or child’s pool with water, throw some biscuits in, he who gets them out fastest wins!

Sniff-n-Find: Let the dogs hunt for hidden doggie treats around the garden.

Musical Pillows is a fun game for dogs and their humans. Play music as the dogs walk around in a circle on a leash.  When the music stops, the human tells his dog to sit on a pillow.  Last dog standing is out.

Free For All Fetch!  Have several balls available (so that there is at least one ball per doggie guest). Play this game with Frisbees or balls.  Dog who returns the most balls or frisbees wins.

Do the Limbo !  Get a stick and play limbo.  Have two people hold the stick and gradually lower it as the puppies try to creep under it to get to their owners.

Best Barks Contest  Enlist a non dog owner to be the judge. (If possible, record the event on video—it’ll be fun to watch later.) Give each dog a chance to demonstrate his or her best bark. When every dog has had a turn, award prizes for the loudest, saddest, squeakiest, funniest, etc., so everyone wins.

Create a beautiful doggie buffet featuring Salt Water Licks Pup~Cakes or a delicious Barkday Cake! Add some Salt Water Licks natural puppy pastries to make a memorable puppy buffet!

For variety & color, include mini carrots & fresh string beans.

And Don’t forget the Barkday Candles!

Call us to find out about our Dog Gone Goodie Bags for your Pup’s friends to take home after the Pawty is over.

Hot Today, Cooler Tomorrow

Finally! The sun came out at 8am this morning and burned all through the day! Jacques wore his Lakers Cooler Doggie™ Vest to celebrate his L.A. roots – even though it’s Angels day…he says baseball is just too slow a game for him – he can’t keep his eye on the ball for that long. Meanwhile, he was the star of the greenbelt, and many other doggies were interested in his cooling vest.

Chowing Down on a Huge Dog Beach Bone

Jacques TFB and his Dog Beach Dog Bone

Jacques doesn’t like to swim, probably because his head weighs more than the rest of his body, but he loves Dog Beach! So we had to let him be the first to try our terrific new Dog Beach Bones! Huge, tasty, wheat free and bursting with peanut butter flavor! Jacques was in doggie heaven!
Salt Water Licks means “Ocean Kisses” in doggie language, and we are located just 2 miles north of Dog Beach, so we are extra excited to be supporting Huntington Dog Beach! We are going to donate $1.00 from the sale of each Dog Beach bone to Dog Beach. How doggie delightful!

Cooler Doggie™ Vests a Hit in Newport & Mission Viejo!

In between munching on some doggone good natural puppy pastries, the pups at Mission Viejo and Newport were enjoying their cooler doggie vests!  When it’s hot outside, there’s nothing better than having a cooler doggie vest, and a natural puppy pastry, of your own!  Enjoy the pics:-)

Welcome!

Welcome!

Our intention with our new site is to share the fun of our “real” location in Sunset Beach, California.  We’re off historic Pacific Coast Highway between Seal Beach and Huntington Beach and just a block from the Picific Ocean with a view of Catalina Island……..sigh

We’re a business with a very cute mascot named JaquesTFB-you can follow his antics on Twitter right her on the site.  This lovely dog inspired our line of uniquely healthy and natural home baked dog treats.

Our goal on-line as it is in the store is to continue to deliver family business service and the highest quality, most cost efficient products available.

And have fun with our neighbors-here on-line and around town.

That little rascal Jacques……went for a walk with Daphne, his best friend, yesterday.  But as soon as he saw Louis and Lola…he abandoned Daphne for the younger, cuter (some might say) Lola!

Our good friend Kaylin Guerrero of KSH took the great pic of Jacques and Daphne…stay tuned!  We love to have her visit Salt Water Licks, our shop in Sunset Beach for Pet Photo day!

Welcome to our new site!
